Víctor Sampedro

He holds a Doctorate in Information Sciences by the UCM (1995). Master in Advanced Social Sciences by Juan March Institute, Madrid (1993). Master of Arts in Mass Communication, in the Northwestern University (1994). Professor of Public Opinion and Political Communication (URJC, Madrid) and Guest Research-Fellow of Communications and Politics (UPF, Barcelona). He also has been Guest Fellow, among other postgraduate studies, in UFF (Rio de Janeiro), UFBA (Salvador, Brasil), UPF and UAB (Barcelona), Univ. Iberoamericana (Mexico), UCM and UAM (Madrid), PUC (Sao Paulo, Brasil). Coordinator of Political Communications Work Teams of the Spanish Association of Political Science and founding partner of ACOP (Political Communications Association). Member, among others, of editorial boards of Political Communication, International Journal of Press and Politics and of Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (Spain). He has written more than ten books about campaigns and elections, new technologies-communications, social and electoral mobilization, collective identities and media, or new genres of political information; as well as many articles in magazines such as Journal of Communication, Media, Culture & Society; International Journal of Press and Politics; TELOS, ZER. In addition to his academic work, he collaborates in social projects about intervention and communicative empowerment.
