Imanol Zubero

He is a professor of Sociology at the UPV/EHU, PhD in Sociology from the University of Deusto and head of the research group CIVERSITY-City and Diversity. He is also a member of the editorial boards of several sociological journals. Zubero is one of those voices pointing to the urgent need to redirect the system towards economies “of” and “for” life, and questions the economic system that places much more value on money-related activities than on those that require taking care of bodies, feeding, cleaning and sustaining them. It advocates rethinking the current economic system and moving towards an economy based on care and sustainability, placing value on activities that promote the well-being of people and the environment, prioritizing their importance and recognizing their positive impact on society.
